Howdy, neighbor, now get out. Chris (Patrick Wilson) and Lisa (Kerry Washington) are trying to start a life together in a new city in "Lakeview Terrace." Instead of meeting the Welcome Wagon, they meet their new neighbor, Abel Turner (Samuel L. Jackson). He seems nice enough, but when he sees Chris and Lisa are an interracial couple, things turn ugly.

Abel is an LAPD cop who is raising two young children, an asset to any community. But when things start turning bad, the newly married couple wonder whether the cop next door is their friend or their enemy.

Jackson is solid in this film, but people might be surprised by some of the lines he utters.

Supporting roles are weak, and despite his best effort, Jackson simply can't support the film on his own. The plot seems forced and has a number of elements that could have been trimmed. All this leads to a bit of a messy film. "Lakeview Terrace" is just stuck on a dead end.
