Reston man killed in vehicle crash
On Saturday, October 11 at 1:19 a.m., officers were called to the scene of a single vehicle crash. An investigation revealed that a 2004 Nissan Maxima was traveling westbound in the 11800 block of Sunrise Valley Drive when the driver apparently lost control. The vehicle ran up on the right curb, continued across the grass and struck a tree head on. The collision with the tree resulted in the vehicle landing on its roof with the driver trapped inside.
James Robert Hammer, 31, of Villaridge Drive in Reston, was pronounced dead at the scene. Hammer was alone in the vehicle. An investigation is underway in the case.
