Without a doubt, Bond is back: Bond, James Bond. The very utterance of that name creates a virtual frenzy at the box office. With the release of “Casino Royale” in 2006, Daniel Craig inherited the role that has thrilled moviegoers for years. Bond is back in the franchise's new installment “Quantum of Solace.”

James is on a mission, searching for meaning, answers and revenge. And because of his troubling road, he is callous and leaves virtually everyone who is a suspect cold as ice.

While he’s doing this, the ever calm M (Judi Dench), ponders what the agency would be like if only one of these people who met Bond lived to talk about it.

Bond’s main nemesis this time around is on a mission of his own. Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric) has world leaders believing he is only interested in helping further environmental policies; his true motivation is far more nefarious.

Bond finds himself in the middle of this global plot and must fight to stop the bad guy while putting his own nightmares to rest.

Director Marc Forster, who has seldom gone the action route, reminds you that this film will continue the “new” brand of action that “Casino Royale” launched. The opening car chase feels gritty and real. As cars crunched, I squirmed in my seat; the pain the driver was enduring felt real.

As Craig’s Bond develops, it is easy to see that he was the ideal choice to carry on this franchise. Craig’s pure physicality adds gritty realism to his character. I believe Daniel Craig as James Bond.

The cast of characters around Bond always makes these films special. However, the film is a tight 106 minutes, and that means character development is not quite as deep. Our Bond girl this time around, Olga Kurylenko, is absolutely stunning and will be a revelation to some. I just didn’t hate the villain as much as I should have -- but I digress.

I was never a huge Bond guy, but that has changed through the years and I have an appreciation for the past films. There is no question in my mind now though -- Craig has made it abundantly clear: Bond is back.
