Schools to close early Nov. 26

All Fairfax County public schools will close two hours early on Wednesday, Nov. 26, in an effort to help school buses avoid the increased traffic related to the Thanksgiving holidays.

Morning and afternoon kindergarten midday runs will be on a Monday early-closing schedule. The afternoon kindergarten students will be released with grades 1-6 and will go home at their usual times.

Schedules for Head Start, preschool, alternative learning centers and intervention support programs will be modified individually and coordinated between transportation and program staff members.

Recreation programs will proceed as scheduled. School Age Child Care programs will be available for students until 6:15 p.m., or until the last child is picked up.
