Teens arrested for Springfield Mall robbery

On the evening of Friday, July 25, four Oxon Hill, MD. teenagers were arrested after allegedly following a 21-year-old man walk to his car in the Springfield Mall parking lot, beating him and then stealing his money and personal belongings at gunpoint.

At around 8:30 p.m., the victim was punched, and a gun was drawn as his belongings were stolen, police said.

After the suspects fled, the victim called police, who were en mass in Springfield that night, "staffing a gang prevention and gang deterrent initiative targeting criminal activity," according to a police news release.

The incident is apparently not gang related, police said.

Apprehended were Askia Cuff, 19, of 1412 Fenwood Ave., Robert Ramsey, 19, and his brother Roderick Ramsey, 18, of 1404 Fenwood Avenue, and a 14-year-old boy.

The suspects were transported to the Adult Detention Center and Juvenile Detention Center.
